A richly adorned shade of peacock velvet and soft light, where color, texture, and ornament come beautifully together
We have brought together the style of the frame and the fabric—two enduring favorites among our customers—into one harmonious piece. The frame, known as the Betty, is designed for a bridge lamp, allowing the light not only to illuminate the fabric beautifully, but also to be directed downward for a warm and functional glow.
The fabric is a burnout silk velvet, richly adorned with peacocks and florals in a palette of navy, teal, bronze, deep red, gold, green, and a subtle touch of mauve pink. This textile is stretched over a dark gold charmeuse mid-lining, creating a luminous depth and a wonderfully warm glow when lit.
To further enhance the design, small Swarovski crystals have been delicately added to the tails of the peacocks, catching the light with a subtle sparkle. The panels are outlined with a refined combination of gold and black trim, while the top is finished with an antique beaded element, likely originating from a garment of the early 1900s.
The lower edge is completed with a custom-dyed 7-inch silky fringe in a rich bronze tone. Black bead accents mark the points of the four shaped panels, while a delicate chain of beads adorns the center of the remaining panels. Black tassels at each pointed corner provide a graceful finishing touch.
The shade is fully lined in silk charmeuse, completing this piece with both beauty and craftsmanship.
