Edwardian Study in Peach Apricot and Gold
A Luminous Composition in Silk Velvet and New Old Stock Metallic Trim
This floor lamp shade, known as the Edwardian, is rendered in a luminous peachy apricot burnout silk, laid over a mid-lining of the same warm tone. When lit, it gives off a delicate, enveloping glow—subtle, flattering, and quietly elegant.
Encircling the center band is a vintage-style embroidered ribbon, adorned with small floral motifs in tones that echo the surrounding panels, finished with fine gold accents. Just beneath, an ornate beaded trim adds a note of refinement and gentle sparkle.
Each corner panel is formed from gathered silk velvet, introducing softness and depth to the silhouette. These gathered panels are edged in exceptional New Old Stock metallic gold trim, lending richness and definition. The remaining panels are outlined in a coordinating trim of light gold blended with tones that match the peachy apricot fabric, creating a harmonious and finely detailed framework throughout the shade.
Framing both the lower edge and the shaped panels is an exquisite New Old Stock metallic trim, reinforcing the sense of period authenticity and rare material quality. The base is finished with a vintage metallic fringe, also New Old Stock, accompanied by matching tassels. Beneath it falls a second layer—a silky, peach-toned fringe that adds movement and a graceful finish.
Designed for a floor lamp, this shade carries both presence and softness, making it especially suited to an ornate wooden base such as the one shown. The overall effect is one of quiet luxury—an interplay of texture, tone, and light that feels both historic and timeless.
